Rich Hutchinson - Chairman
An eye for the detail, like all things practical, an ideas man who keeps fellow board members on their toes (or tries to)- Asks too many questions, avoids the paperwork, more work for the others, never know what he will come up with next.
Father of two and married to one, current Chair of the BOT- passionate to ensure Waipawa Primary is the very best it can be and able to deliver the demands that the modern student requires to keep them challenged.
Other interests- Vice President of CHB Football Assn, Volunteer Fire Fighter, coach for Waipawa School 7&8 year olds Football Team. Enjoys a laugh and a joke and not taking himself to seriously.
Chrissie Malcolm - Treasurer
My husband Greg and I have three daughters aged 9, 7 and 4, our eldest two attend Waipawa School. I am a born and bred CHB girl and have always enjoyed being part of our fantastic community.
I have been on the BOT since 2012 and have found it a very challenging but interesting role. I have also been on the committees for the Waipawa 150th Jubilee, the 150th Reunion for the school and the Waipawa Kindergarten.
I enjoy being a voice for all parents at Waipawa Primary School. I feel that the school has an amazing positive vibe and is making excellent progress across the board with the academic levels of our students through a lot of hard work from our dedicated teaching team. I am proud of our school and think we are very lucky to have such a well resourced learning environment backed by a very enthusiastic Whanau and Friends (PTA) committee.
I am really looking forward to an exciting year for our school with future developments within the school, especially our IT area and we also have a lot of other things planned, that will be hugely beneficial to the students. I am always happy for parents to approach me with questions or concerns and look forward to meeting new families at our school so please come and introduce yourself if you see me.
Rachel Mc Naught
I was elected as a Parent Representative on the Board of Trustees (BOT) in 2016 so am on a steep but stimulating learning curve!
My Husband Roger and I have 4 children who all attend Waipawa Primary School. My husband is an ex pupil of Waipawa School and I grew up in the beautiful Central Hawkes Bay district.
I am very proud of Waipawa Primary School and all the wonderful things it has to offer. Our school helps students strive to be the best they can be. There are many opportunities to achieve beyond the classroom.
I believe through positive communication and desire for excellence our dedicated school staffs, BOT and Whanau are united to provide our children with their best learning experience, a supportive school community and to inspire student achievement as lifelong learners.
As a community representative please feel free to speak with me with any questions – we all want the very best education for our children and open communication is essential for this.
